ABB Group has cooperated with Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Research Institute(ZELRI) for more than 10 years. Beijing Sunking reperenting ABB Semiconductor Company supplies GTO devices to High-speed electric locomotive explored by Zhuzhou. Sunking also organizes conferences to have foreign experts exchange technology with Zhuzhou.

In March, 2002,Sunking organized a 5 experts team from Zhuzhou to ABB Switzerland for a 3- week training of IGCT ,and made a favourable

conditions of exploiting a new generation of electric locomotive. In order to realize nationalizing the production of the electric locomotive in the near future, up till now Beijing Sunking devotes its efforts to the technology transfer of the core components of the electric locomotives.
